Trapping (pictured above): Honeybee trapping is a non-destructive method of removing honeybees from inaccessible areas of structures, along with the honey that they have stored there. There are many important reasons that honeybees should be trapped as opposed to killing them with insecticides. When honeybees are killed with insecticides, dead bees and the honey that they have stored inside the structure remain there. These attract other insects, rodents, and more honeybees. Also, the interior walls of a structure can be stained by honey that melts inside them, necessitating costly repairs. In many cases, the material which comprises the interior wall surface must be removed and replaced as honey stains cannot be removed. When honeybees are trapped, they return to the interior of the structure and remove the stored honey themselves! After the honeybees are trapped they will be removed from your property and relocated to one of our apiaries. We will then seal the opening in your home where the bees gained entry. This process can take from two to six weeks to complete, but it is much less expensive than tearing-out and replacing the walls in your home! |
